Update on Wisconsin Avenue Streetscape Project

Groundbreaking for the Wisconsin Avenue streetscape project is now expected in early April, with the project to be completed by end of September 2012.   A public meeting was held to discuss the project on April 3, 2012, and DDOT has posted complete information on project plans and timelines here.   Community members with questions or concerns about the project can contact Alberta Paul, DDOT Community Outreach Specialist, at alberta.paul@dc.gov.  The community has identified significant concerns about the construction and the new traffic pattern diverting additional traffic onto 37th St. and about the project failing to include pedestrian safety improvements at 37th St. and Tunlaw Rd. and elsewhere in the neighbrohood.  The Mayor’s office has indicated that addressing concerns about the intersection of 37th St. and Tunlaw Rd. will be a top priority as the project moves forward.
