ANC 3B Protests Good Guys License Renewal

ANC 3B voted 4-0 at the December meeting to protest the license renewal of Good Guys restaurant, which will be before the Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) in the coming months.   In 2011, when ANC 3B protested the renewal of JPs license on the grounds that it was not appropriate in such a family-centric neighborhood, the ABC Board ruled that because JPs was located between two residential neighborhoods and attracted people into the neighborhood for “nightclub” activities during the day, it was not appropriate for the club to offer nude dancing prior to 5 PM.   The ANC protest is based on our view that the Board’s ruling should apply equally to Good Guys, and that Good Guys should also be prevented from offering nude dancing prior to 5 PM.
