ANC 3B BUSINESS
Police Report
Alice Thompson, Community Outreach Specialist, DC Office on Aging, to discuss Community, Health, Wellness and Informational Fair that will take place at the Guy Mason Recreation Center on Wednesday, September 23, 2014.
Jarrett Ferrier, to Discuss Mural at 37th and W Pl. Steps. Mr. Ferrier will be painting a mural depicting our neighborhood namesake, Charles Carroll Glover, at the newly repaired steps at 37th and W Pl. NW. He will attend the meeting to update the community on the project and answer any questions.
Frank Economides, to Discuss Development Plans for 2405 37th St. NW. Mr. Economides has a contract to purchase this property and will attend to discuss his plans to build three new townhouses.
Resolution on Tree Protection Provisions in Zoning Rewrite. DC Planning and Zoning officials are currently in the process of revamping the decades-old DC Zoning Code. ANC 3B will discuss and vote on a resolution to include additional protections for trees in this updated code.
Updates on recent ANC issues. In recent months, the ANC has heard about and discussed a variety of issues, including from Pepco regarding undergrounding of electrical wires, from DC Water regarding proposals to replace sewer pipes in Glover Park and install green infrastructure to help reduce sewage overflows; from Stoddert Elementary regarding the installation of trailers and the need to find parking spots for teachers; and from the Office of Planning regarding the proposed zoning code rewrite. ANC members will provide brief updates to the community on these and other neighborhood issues.
Introduction of ANC Candidates. ANC members for 2015-2016 will be elected on November 4th, 2014. Candidates who will appear on the ballot have been invited to introduce themselves to the community.
