Because of the work being done by Washington Gas, it is possible that the final re-paving and lane-marking of Wisconsin Avenue will not occur before winter temperatures set in. DDOT’s work is 75% complete and Washington Gas anticipates finishing by November 1. We will know then when DDOT can finish the project. Work still pending includes reducing the wattage of streetlights north of Calvert.
The redesign of the intersection at 37th and Tunlaw is now finalized. At least three of the five lost parking spaces will be replaced; two more spots are pending. The plan calls for two low-impact-development areas that will be landscaped to create the new intersection. Details are posted at the ANC website. Whether construction on the intersection occurs in November or next spring depends on receiving clearances, having Wisconsin available for detours, and the weather. Stay tuned for further updates.
