DDOT Presents Proposed Plans for Redesign of 37th and Tunlaw Intersection

On August 9, 2012, DDOT presented a preliminary plan for redesign of the intersection of 37th and Tunlaw.  The design can be seen here.   A more detailed version with additional information can be seen at the Wisconsin Avenue Project website.  DDOT will be taking community comments on this preliminary plan until the end of August, and will then present the final plan at the September 13 ANC 3B meeting.    To comment on the proposal, please email Shana Viera at info@wisconsinavenueproject.com – and please cc: ANC 3B at info@anc3b.org.   Under the current plan, construction is expected to begin on October 1, and be completed by the end of October.

In other project news, DDOT has placed the new crosswalks at Benton and Tunlaw Sts. and at W Pl. and Tunlaw, and has indicated that they will be placing new crosswalks and stop signs at the intersection of 37th and W Pl. NW.

DDOT also indicated that becuase of Washington Gas utility work, completion of the project is now expected to be completed by the end of November 2012.
